1. Explain how the following factors have influenced who you are today: religion, ethnicity, gender, hometown/state, country.
Realistically, religion hasn't effected me much. My mom isn't a big pusher of God, so its kinda something that I developed on my own. Really, my religion is what I want it to be, and how I want to look at it. My ethnicity has a similar effect, since I'm white, I feel like I might not encounter as much trouble as someone else. Living where I do, I think that it has influenced me slightly more than the two mentioned above. America, and more specifically, Hillsdale, NJ is a more privileged kind of town, so I'm personally open to more opportunities. My gender probably has the most effect on who I am today. I'm proud to be a woman, and I embrace it, although my gender doesn't limit me to “girly” things, but thats me.
I think that my own internal thoughts, attitudes, and perceptions are wholly responsible for the person that I today. Those things are me, they characterize me. In my opinion, all those things is basically what makes a person up. Every bodies thoughts, attitudes, and perceptions are different, just like every person is unique.
3. How important do you think physical factors such as genes, hormones, brain chemistry, and brain structure are in determining who you are, how you act, what you think, and how you feel.
I think that they are pretty important part, just like the choices you make. I think that genes, hormones, brain chemistry are a part that is more “unconscious” part while the decisions you make and life experiences you have are the more seen part of how you act and who you are today. The genes and brain are more a behind the curtain kind of thing that sort of sets the stage, while the life you live and what happens in that life shape you personally from there.
